2009 is a milestone for HB Rutherford and Co. Ltd., for the company celebrates 35 years in business. Founded by Harvey Wright and Bob Taylor, the print and design consultancy has been part of the Broughty Ferry business community since 1974. Rutherfords is now run by Harvey’s sons Innes and Stuart, and the firm has recently moved from their Long Lane base to larger premises on the outskirts of Broughty Ferry. Bridge House in Church Street is custom built for the firm’s business requirements and includes a state-of-the-art design studio.

Over the years, Rutherfords has built-up an extensive client base, with customers drawn from the local business community as well as national and international enterprises. The loyalty of these customers – one has been with the company for 30 years – is testament to the quality of their work.The company’s experience in the print industry means that Rutherfords are able to source solutions for any print demand from the inception of a corporate identity; annual reports; exhibition display boards to website design.

Since the founding of the company, the market has changed enormously and Rutherfords has responded to that challenge, Innes and Stuart have encouraged the development of design into the business by employing graphic designers who are mostly from a print background. This young team has given the company the ability to move into the growing market of web design as well as maintaining their edge in other media, so they offer a comprehensive package of print and new technology options.
